you have successfully completed your studies (master''s degree/diploma) in an engineering field. ideally, you have initial professional experience in the area of rail vehicles, as well as system knowledge about railway vehicles. initial experience in the field of functional safety, preferably in dealing with the safety directive for vehicles (sirf) of the federal railway authority, or other relevant safety standards from the railway sector, automotive or industrial plant business is an advantage. you are used to thinking technically in terms of the overall system. experience in the use of modelling tools (exempli gratia magicdraw) and known safety methods (fta, fmea) would be desirable. you communicate with business confidence in german and english and are open to working with international colleagues.

In our engineering department, we develop state-of-the-art and environmentally friendly rail vehicles - As a Junior Safety Engineer (f/m/d), you will contribute to the safety of our vehicles in our team and support the specialist departments both in the development of new safety architectures and functions and in their verification. as a cross-sectional function in engineering, you have the system view of the overall functions and have exciting points of contact with a wide range of specialist areas (exempli gratia circuit technology, system design, software development). you support the coordination of safety requirements for their functional components with the specialist departments involved, as well as their implementation. based on this, you support the creation and maintenance of safety analyses for various safety-relevant vehicle functions according to explicit risk analysis for hardware and software components as well as for integration into the overall system. these often form an important basis for an independent assessment and are thus a prerequisite for the successful approval of the vehicles. you work with model-based approaches, maintain the existing safety parts of our established vehicle platforms and develop them further together with engineering.
