Your profile
The hiring requirements according to § 100 ff. BerlHG must be filled. These include
a compledted, relevant university degree with a focus on subjects relevant to antisemitism research (see your tasks)
special aptitude for academic work, usually demonstrated by the quality of a doctoral degree in the humanities/social sciences or psychology, especially in the above-mentioned disciplines
additional academic achievements, e. g. a positively evaluated junior professorship, habilitation or equivalent qualifications
teaching aptitude, demonstrated through your teaching portfolio (see https://www . tu.berlin/go209650/)
Necessary competences are:
qualified achievements in research and teaching as well as of – peer-reviewed or otherwise relevant – publications in antisemitism research as well as Jewish studies and/or racism research
extensive teaching experience in the thematic areas that are of great importance in the degree program “Interdisciplinary Research on Antisemitism”, in particular antisemitism theory, Jewish thought in modern times, Jewish history and the present and/or social science or historical research on antisemitism and racism
experience in acquiring third-party funding
Desirable competences:
leadership and management qualities or qualities for working in the management of an institute
experience in academic self-administration and the internal organization of an institute
experience in dealing with the media and the public as well as political consulting
concept for the expanded and intensified integration of the professorship and the ZfA into the relevant research landscape in Berlin, Germany, Europe and worldwide
Aufgaben:
in terms of content, gender-theoretical issues are important in order to be able to integrate the topics of misogyny and misogyny in antisemitism research. participation in and further development of teaching in the master''s program “interdisciplinary antisemitism research” and in the bachelor''s programs “culture and technology” at faculty i of the tu berlin as well as intensive cooperation with faculty i departments is expected. existing cooperation with non-university and tu-wide institutions, exempli gratia the selma stern center, should be continued and - if necessary - realigned according to the focus. we are looking for a scientist who takes a stand in social and political discussions and has proven skills in policy advice. as a university with an international profile, we require our professors to teach in german an english or be willing to acquire the language
skills they lack within a reasonable period of time. Tasks include leadership and management of the department and its employees, promotion of young researchers, women and social diversity, knowledge transfer, internationalization initiatives, gender- and diversity-competent and sustainability-oriented action as well as committee and commission work. In recent years, the ZfA has begun to integrate more methods and approaches of artificial intelligence (AI) and also to set up digitalization projects. The professorship is intended to continue this commitment to the fields as far as possible.
